A product of the Rovers Academy having been with the club since the age of 12, this central midfielder has progressed through from the Academy to the Reserves and onto the fringes of the first team.
Made his senior debut in the FA Cup against Queens Park Rangers in January 2011 and his Barclays Premier League debut soon followed when he came on as a first half substitute against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Having signed a new deal to keep him at the club until the summer of 2013, Lowe ended the season on loan at Oldham Athletic where he would go onto score twice in seven outings for the League One side.
Having represented England at under 20 level, Lowe will be part of the squad that travels to Colombia to take part in the FIFA under 20 World Cup in July/August 2011.
