After a trial with the club Rovers signed the striker from Macclesfield Town on a two-and-a-half year deal in January 2009.
After establishing himself with the Reserve squad Nick quickly earned himself a loan spell with Blackpool in March 2009. The following season he spent the first half on loan with Oldham Athletic.
Returned to Rovers in January 2010, going on to make ten appearances for the Reserves, scoring three goals.
The 2010-11 season saw him move to Scottish Premier League side Motherwell, and during his four months with the Scottish club he scored an impressive 10 times from 18 league appearances.
Nick returned to Rovers in January 2011 and signed a new two-and-a-half year deal that sees him contracted to Rovers until the summer of 2013.
Hooked up with Craig Brown for a second time when he signed on loan with Aberdeen for the remainder of the 2010-11 campaign.
Now back at Rovers, the left-footed forward will be looking to press his claims for the first team.
