Sam Johnstone is one of a clutch of England youth internationals in the current crop of Academy youngsters at United.
The Preston-born goalkeeper is tall, athletic and very agile. He commands his area with authority and is a fine shot stopper.
Sam has regularly been involved with the England set-up since making his U16s debut against Scotland in November 2008. He shared goalkeeper duties with Conor Devlin in the 2009/10 campaign.
Johnstone was the Academy's senior keeper in 2010/11, and played a key part in United winning the FA Youth Cup for the first time since 2003.
