The transfer came just two weeks after the striker notched an impressive hat-trick against the Whites in a pre-season friendly at Boundary Park.
Eaves progressed through Oldham Athletic's Centre of Excellence under the guidance of former Wanderer Tony Philliskirk before making his Football League debut against Millwall in January of this year.
He went on to tally a total of 15 appearances for the Latics last season, with his performances catching the eye of a number of suitors including that of Owen Coyle.
Indeed, the Bolton boss believes that the club has signed a player with great potential and he is looking forward to integrating the Liverpool-born youngster into the Wanderers' setup.
Although Eaves didn't make a competitive first team appearance in 2010/11, he hit double figures in terms of goals in John Hnery's reserve team setup.
