The South Korean winger has followed-up his impressive debut first season in English football with yet another sterling campaign in 2010/11,
Moving to the Reebok from FC Seoul, the South Korean international signed a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee after being granted a work permit and receiving international clearance on 14 August 2009.
In a different culture, playing a different style of football, the 'Blue Dragon' excelled and became a firm fans' favourite with the skills and ingenuity which made him one of the most exciting prospects in Asia prior to his transfer from FC Seoul.
He announced himself with the winning strike against Birmingham City just weeks after moving to England and went on to score further goals against Everton, West Ham United, Lincoln City and Burnley - all matches Bolton went on to win in 2009/10.
These achievements helped him to secure the 2010 Bolton Wanderers Player of the Year award.
He played a starring role in South Korea's World Cup run where he scored goals against Argentina and Uruguay as they reached the last 16 stage.
Returning to Bolton in August of 2010 after his exploits in South Africa, the flamboyant winger carried on where he had left off in a Bolton shirt as he scored goals against Stoke City and Newcastle United in late 2011.
Chung-Yong also netted at St Andrew's for the second season in succession when he headed a dramatic last minute winner to book Wanderers' place at Wembley for the FA Cup semi-finals, as Bolton edged a pulsating last-eight tie by 3-2.
Unfortunately for the South Korean superstar, he is set to miss the vast majority of the 2011/12 season after breaking his leg in a pre-season friendly with Newport County.
